About
Jess Joslin is the Director of UIC Dialogue Initiative and Diversity Education. Jess directs UIC's intergroup dialogue efforts and works closely with partners from across the University to share dialogic pedagogy and tools. Jess also oversees UIC's bias response and leads a range of diversity education programs.
Prior to coming to UIC, Jess worked in diversity and instructional consulting at the University of Michigan. At Michigan, she taught in several departments including, Women's Studies, Middle East Studies, the Center for Global and Intercultural Study, the Center for Study on Higher and Postsecondary Education and the Program on Intergroup Relations. Jess has also worked in residential life at Harvard University and has served as a hospital chaplain.
Jess received her Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of Michigan. Additionally, she holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard University, a M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Michigan, and a B.S.Ed. from Northwestern University.
Outside of UIC, Jess enjoys listening to podcasts (she welcomes recommendations!), crafting, and hanging out with her two rescue dogs, Lolli and Gabby.
