Steve directs the UIC First-Year Dialogue Seminar in addition to facilitating some of its courses. He comes from a background of working with young people in the Carolinas and Chicago, and has worked with youth in developing programs and practices for restorative and social justice, leadership, and political education. He believes that empathizing with others’ experiences can transform the way we think about ourselves and our world. Furthermore, he believes that dialogue is a great way to challenge what we think we know. Away from UIC, he keeps busy playing flag football, trying to complete crossword puzzles, and saving money to explore the world.
